Chat with a friend

I just chatted with a friend who used to be my co-worker back in the Philippines. We had a great chat and had gotten a lot of info's about what's going on there. Also found out from her that the price of rice had went up to 33 pesos a kilo for a very good type of rice and I was shocked because that was really expensive for an ordinary Filipino. Rice is a staple food in the Philippines and it is served in every meal. She said that the economy is really bad and a lot of Filipinos are having a hard time coping up to make ends meet most specially for those who are unemployed and even if you are employed but only have a very low income that could hardly make ends meet. I really feel sad about what's going on with the economy in the Philippines.
